Our Story
At its core, King’s Ransom Ministries exists to serve God by ministering to people spiritually, emotionally, and musically, helping them experience the love of Christ.
King’s Ransom Ministries, Inc. began as a live gospel music ministry in April 1994 and became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1998. It was founded by Gary Stephenson and Julio Trevino, who met at Texas Tech University in 1993 and shared a passion for ministering through country gospel music.
Our Legacy: Gary & Liz Stephenson
Gary Stephenson discovered his love for music at age five and mastered both drums and steel guitar. After years performing professionally, God delivered him from the secular music scene, and he dedicated his life to ministry. Gary is an ordained minister, holds a PhD in Psychology and Christian Counseling, and is a licensed counselor and pastoral counselor. He retired after 12 years working in federal corrections as an Alcohol & Drug Counselor, Alternatives to Addiction Instructor, and Assistant Chaplain, and has also taught at Wayland Baptist University.
Liz Stephenson is a Doctor of Divinity, ordained minister, and retired Registered Nurse, with 35 years of experience including oncology nursing. She previously owned Endless Love Wedding Chapel in Lubbock, Texas, helping couples celebrate their special day. Liz is also a talented seamstress, specializing in wedding and formal wear alterations, and continues to bless people with her care, skill, and compassion.
Together, Gary and Liz have dedicated their lives to serving God through music, counseling, and ministry, and have been richly blessed in their work with weddings, concerts, and gospel outreach.
